Hey, I’m Lauren 👋
I’m the bookkeeping mum behind Buzz The Books — a bookkeeper, business owner and mum who genuinely loves numbers (yes, really!).
But I know not everyone does.
In fact, most people don’t start a business because they’re excited about bookkeeping, spreadsheets and reconciling transactions. You started your business because you’re good at what you do. You had an idea, a skill, a passion — and you wanted to make a living from it.
The finances? They’re just part of the deal.
That’s where I come in.
More than just keeping the books
I’ve worked in bookkeeping and accountancy, dealing with everything from VAT and Self Assessment to CIS, payroll, software training and the day-to-day realities of keeping businesses financially organised.
But Buzz The Books came from wanting to do things a little differently.
No confusing jargon. No making you feel silly for asking questions. No handing you a set of accounts and expecting you to magically know what they mean.
Just straightforward, practical bookkeeping and support from someone who understands that running a business is only one part of your life.
And yes… I’m a mum too
Being a mum is a pretty big part of who I am.
I know what it’s like to run a business around family life, school runs, nappies, dinner time and approximately 47 other things happening at once.
So I get that sometimes the books aren't going to be your priority.
And that's okay.
You don't have to love your numbers. You just need to know they're being looked after.
